Podcast: Mommy on the Move: Training for a Race
Podcast's Purpose: To motivate busy moms to see training for a race as achievable
Podcast's Audience: Busy moms everywhere!
Tools Used to Create and Present this Podcast: I used royalty-free music with author permissions under Creative Commons Licensing from Bensound.com; Audacity for recording and audio editing; VLC Player for conversion from WAV to MP3; and Internet Archive to upload and create a code for embedding my podcast on my course page which was created with Weebly.
Brief Reflection: I am always making up songs to serve as mnemonic devices for my students, so podcasting would be a great way to create a helpful library for my students. I feel my students are a bit young to handle the copyright laws and sound mixing involved with creating a podcast in Audacity. Perhaps with a teacher-selected library of safe songs, this could be more achievable. I am extremely busy at the moment, as my husband is away for work-related training for a long while. Because of this, I now more than ever have a heart for using podcasting and any other available resources to make life easier and more pleasant for all busy moms. As many nuances as there were to learn about Audacity, I still think the most difficult part of this assignment was finding suitable background music that could be used without copyright infringement.
